The fundamentals of the Indian economy are sound as the real GDP in Q3 and Q4 of FY'21 already crossed the pre-pandemic level, former Niti Aayog vice-chairman Arvind Panagariya said on Sunday.
Panagariya, in an interview to PTI, however also emphasised that the country needs to conquer Covid-19 as quickly and decisively as possible.
"Here the news on vaccination front is excellent. I only wish that we as citizens do our bit and religiously wear masks when coming in contact with others," he said.

Many Colleges affiliated to Delhi University declared 100% cut-off for students seeking admission in various undergraduate courses.
Over 70,000 students this year have secured between 95 and 100 marks in their class 12 CBSE exams. Of these, 9200 have applied for admission in DU.
"But the number of such students were lower during pre-Covid times, but because of coronavirus and the evaluation being based on internal assessments, the number of cent per cent scorers has increased. This has led to more colleges announcing 100 per cent cut-offs."
Petrol diesel prices today
With fuel rates increasing daily in October, the prices of petrol and diesel are soaring at an all-time high across the country. The state-run oil marketing companies (OMCs) have once again revised the fuel rates on October 3, making it the fourth consecutive day for rising fuel prices.
As of today, petrol is retailing at Rs. 102.39 per litre in New Delhi, recording an increase of 25 paise from yesterday’s price, while diesel is being sold at Rs 90.77 per litre. In India’s financial capital, Mumbai, the rate of petrol is Rs 108.43 per litre while that of diesel is Rs 98.48 per litre, which is still the highest among the four metro cities at present.
