OYO is a Billionaire Company
Oyo Hotels is looking to raise $1 billion via IPO. OYO has 46% stake by SoftBank. Its founder and CEO Ritesh Agarwal said in July that business was likely to return to levels seen before the second wave of Covid-19 infections in Indian.
Oyo received $5 million investment last month from Microsoft Corp.
Indian Employees become Crorepatis
Freshworks, which created history by becoming the first Indian SaaS company to get listed on the Nasdaq stock exchange, has seen more than 500 of its employees in India becoming crorepatis in the process.
Freshworks co-founder Girish Mathrubootham described the listing as an “incredibly proud moment” as “Freshworks is the first SaaS company from India to go public in the US.”

A merger of India's Zee and a domestic unit of Japan's Sony Group Corp will create a television powerhouse to grab more advertising revenue, challenging top rival Walt Disney Co in a key growth market, industry officials said.
The Sony-Zee alliance, with about 75 news, entertainment, sports and movie channels in more than 10 languages, stands to become India's biggest player, with a market share of 27% outstripping that of Disney's Star India, at 24%.
